The First Chapter of Dawn
Contents
I registered this public account a year ago. At first, I simply wanted a place to share my photographs and document my work. But because my job took up most of my time and energy, I never managed to keep it going. A year later, I have finally decided to start tending this little corner of my own. I have no idea what will come of it, but the process itself should at least be interesting.
Today is a somewhat special day. Explaining exactly why might sound a little sentimental, but in the language of a certain company’s culture, today marks the day I have gone from fragrant to mellow, and that seems worth remembering. So I am opening this account to look back on the past, record the present, and look ahead to the future.
My original idea was to use this account to share photographs, discuss photography, and introduce places, cultures, and geography, so I named it “Dot Photography.” A year later, however, my thoughts have changed slightly. A photograph records a single moment, but around that frozen point in time and space, there are often stories that are fascinating, moving, or worth thinking about. Compared with polished but impersonal “great photographs,” I believe it is these ordinary fragments of life, intertwined with culture and geography, that give a photograph its real foundation. So this account will also record some of the people and things I encounter while taking photographs: the hardships and pleasures, the excitement and sadness.
Beyond photography, I will also share some of what I have learned about cars, radio, route planning, software, and other subjects, in the hope that someone may find it useful.
Finally, I will share some of my own thoughts and reflections.
This is the first chapter of this account, like the first light of dawn entering a dream and bringing it to life. The road ahead is still unclear, but it is full of hope.
I hope I can count on your support.
